According to webangah News Agency,Kaja Kallas,the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs,responded on social media to Iran’s suspension of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) following a controversial report by Director General Rafael Grossi.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kallas wrote: “Full support for the IAEA and its Director General Rafael Grossi in carrying out his responsibilities to continue impartial monitoring of Iran’s nuclear program. This is key to diplomatic resolution.”
The IAEA had submitted a confidential report on May 31, reiterating claims about Iran’s accumulation of uranium enriched to “weapons-grade” levels and calling for Tehran’s full cooperation. The report coincided with sensitive negotiations between Tehran and Washington regarding Iran’s nuclear program. It alleged that as of May 17, Iran had enriched 408.6 kg of uranium up to 60% purity-an increase of 133.8 kg since the agency’s February report.
The contentious report led to an anti-Iran resolution at the IAEA Board of Governors meeting, which critics argue paved the way for U.S. and Israeli aggression against Iranian nuclear facilities.
on June 25, during a public session, Iran’s Parliament voted overwhelmingly (210 in favor, 2 against, 2 abstentions out of 219 present) in support of suspending cooperation with the IAEA following a National Security Committee recommendation.
Reacting to these developments on June 28, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on X that Parliament’s decision was “the direct result of Rafael Grossi’s deplorable role,” adding: “Grossi’s biased actions directly enabled both this politically motivated resolution against Iran at the Board and Israel/U.S.’ illegal attacks on our nuclear sites.”
