The report states that Elbridge Colby, U.S.Deputy Secretary of Defense, ordered the suspension after reviewing America’s weapons inventory. Severe shortages in artillery shells, air defense missiles, and precision munitions have raised operational concerns.
Sources from Politico indicate the decision to pause certain specialized munitions shipments-originally approved under former President Joe Biden’s governance-was made in June but is now being implemented.
