According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency which referenced Al Jazeera, residents of the Gaza Strip face life-threatening hunger after more than 140 days of a complete siege and closure of entry points to the enclave.
With continued bans on humanitarian aid, food, and medical supplies amid international institutions’ silence, warnings persist that Gaza is approaching mass famine.
The Gaza Ministry of Health stated that over 900 peopel have been killed and about 6,000 injured while struggling to access food or survive under extremely harsh conditions.
The Ministry stressed that at least 71 children have died from hunger and malnutrition as the number of those facing starvation surpasses two million.
Gaza’s official media office warned that if the siege continues with ongoing blockades on aid deliveries, mass fatalities are inevitable. It also accused the occupiers of wielding starvation as a collective weapon.
The ban on importing medicines and medical equipment has led to near-total collapse of health services in Gaza. Hospitals have reached their lowest capacity for treating patients and wounded individuals due to current conditions.
The Ministry commented that this healthcare breakdown-especially amid rising cases of malnutrition-will increase casualties, notably among children and infants.
While international organizations report widespread disaster looming over gaza, relief supplies remain stockpiled at closed crossings without permission for entry.
An UNRWA official said large quantities of ready-to-distribute food remain in Arish city in Egypt but aid is not allowed into besieged Gaza for those in desperate need.
