According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency via Al-Nashra, over one thousand EU employees signed a letter demanding the suspension of diplomatic ties between the european Union and the Israeli regime, along with financial sanctions.
The EU staff warned in their letter that time is running out and that famine is rapidly spreading in Gaza. They stated that famine in Gaza has accelerated and cannot be halted by sporadic aid or humanitarian drops from the sky, especially as Israel’s war on the region continues. The ongoing blockade of Gaza constitutes a clear violation of international law. The failure of Gaza’s humanitarian institutions has resulted in over 1,000 deaths caused by Israeli forces as May.
The signatories added that the EU’s silence about Gaza’s crisis amounts to complicity with Israel and undermines European values.
The letter calls on the European Union to impose financial and trade sanctions on Israeli officials, suspend diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv, and recall its ambassador from Israel.
It is noted that israel has blocked crossings preventing food, fuel, and medical supplies from reaching Gaza. The blockade and closed crossings have caused severe famine in the enclave.
