the Iranian President, Masoud pezeshkian, arrived in Lahore earlier today and was officially welcomed by former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, according to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab Province, was also present at the reception ceremony for Pezeshkian.
Earlier, Pakistan’s ARY Television quoted Iran’s ambassador to Islamabad outlining Pezeshkian’s visit plans. The ambassador stated that the president traveled to Pakistan to express gratitude for the support and solidarity shown by the Pakistani people during the 12-day imposed war.
Pezeshkian first visited Lahore’s Allama Muhammad Iqbal Mausoleum, paying respects to this renowned poet and scholar of the Islamic world. He is scheduled to continue his trip in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital.
