North Korea Accuses Washington, Seoul, and Tokyo of Planning Preemptive Attack

North Korea has described recent US military exercises involving South ⁢korea and Japan as preparations for a “preemptive attack” on Pyongyang.

According to the English ‌section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and Yonhap,Rodong Sinmun,North⁢ Korea’s main ‌state-affiliated ⁤newspaper,condemned recent​ joint military ⁤drills by the US,South Korea,and Japan as preparations for a preemptive strike against Pyongyang.

The article sharply ‌criticized the recent US-led air exercises near Japan that began last month, along with logistical drills between South Korean and US Marines.

It stated:‌ “These exercises are aimed at launching preemptive ‌attacks against our republic. To ensure peace ⁢on the Korean⁢ Peninsula and​ in the region, blind military actions‌ by the United States, Japan, and ​South ⁣Korea ‍must be stopped.”

The⁤ piece ‌also ⁢denounced‌ ongoing trilateral ‍military cooperation among Seoul, Washington, and Tokyo as an attempt to​ “crush” north Korea through collective military force.

The author argued ⁢that‍ strengthening north Korea’s defensive capabilities in response to such activities is both fair and responsible.

Amid what it ⁣calls⁢ increasing nuclear and​ missile threats from Pyongyang, South Korea has recently taken steps to enhance its trilateral security collaboration with the US and Japan.
