According to the english section of webangah News Agency,citing mehr News Agency and the Palestine Details Center,dozens of Moroccan lawyers and civil society activists held a hunger strike in Rabat to denounce Israel’s deliberate starvation policy against Palestinians in Gaza. The protest was organized by the Moroccan Front for the Support of Palestine at the headquarters of Morocco’s largest human rights organization, continuing from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. GMT.
Alongside the strike, participants engaged in speeches, discussions, and chants expressing solidarity wiht the Palestinian people. Abdel Samad Fathi,deputy coordinator of the Moroccan Front for Support of Palestine,emphasized that this hunger strike took place as Palestinians-especially those in Gaza-endure one of their darkest and most challenging periods in history.
he described the ongoing massacres in Gaza as unprecedented both in scale and intensity. “This clear genocide is happening before the eyes and ears of the world,” he asserted.
Fathi sharply criticized international silence and inactivity, stating: “Humanity faces an intense test; human values are being slaughtered daily in Gaza.”
He also highlighted Israel’s use of starvation as a deadly weapon by besieging women, children, and infants-cutting off their access to food-and even shooting those who search for it.
The organizers announced that this event marks only the beginning of a wave of protests scheduled over coming days involving Moroccan civil society institutions through further hunger strikes, sit-ins, and demonstrations.
