According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif wrote today, Sunday, on the social media platform X: “Today in Islamabad, I had a warm and cordial meeting with my brother masoud Pezeshkian, president of Iran.”
The Pakistani Prime Minister continued: “We onc again emphasized our longstanding neighborly relations rooted in civilization, culture, religion, and shared interests. I expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Iran and thanked them for their courage and resilience against Israeli aggression. I also reiterated my gratitude to the President for Tehran’s support to Pakistan during the recent conflict in South Asia.”
Shahbaz Sharif added: “We further affirmed our firm stance on the rights of innocent Palestinians who face unprecedented violence and hardship. During our talks, we agreed to deepen cooperation between Pakistan and Iran in trade, communications, and bilateral exchanges. We pledged to work toward raising our bilateral trade volume to 10 billion dollars. The exchange of memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and key agreements today marks an vital step toward building a brighter future for our peoples.”
