According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al-Maalomah via Mehr News Agency, Abdulrahman Al-Jazaeri, a member of Iraq’s State of Law Coalition, emphasized that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani is facing pressure from the united states concerning the Popular mobilization Forces (PMF) and related issues.
He added that laws regarding service and retirement for the PMF are currently under review in the Iraqi parliament, but American parties are exerting pressure on Al-Sudani about these matters.
Al-Jazaeri asserted that Al-Sudani cannot oppose parliament or legislation concerning PMF service and retirement regulations.
It is indeed noteworthy that the Popular Mobilization Forces currently serve as a key component in Iraq’s security apparatus. They are also actively involved in securing this year’s Arbaeen pilgrimage ceremonies.
