Ukrainian President Announces Exchange of 1,200 Prisoners with Russia.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Ukraineform, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday that preparations are underway to exchange 1,200 Ukrainians currently held prisoner in Russia.
Zelensky added, “We must free all military personnel and civilians alike. no matter how arduous it is. There is an agreement on exchanging 1,200 individuals, and work on the lists continues.”
Earlier, the Ukrainian president said he received a report from his senior negotiator Rustem Umerov regarding previous Moscow-Kyiv talks.
So far, three rounds of negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian representatives have taken place: July 23rd, May 16th, and June 2nd.
