Moscow Issues First Response to U.S. Nuclear Submarine Deployment Near Russia

The Kremlin spokesperson responded to the US presidentS comments about deploying ‌American nuclear submarines near Russian waters.

Dmitry Peskov,⁢ the Kremlin spokesman, addressed remarks made today by US President Donald Trump, who stated that “the country’s nuclear ‍submarines have reached where they needed to be.” ⁢Speaking to webangah News Agency citing⁣ The Guardian adn Mehr News agency, Peskov said Moscow has no ⁣interest⁣ in engaging in debate with Trump over this matter.

Peskov downplayed Trump’s⁢ statements, noting that it was already clear before the US president’s proclamation that “American submarines were on alert.”

He emphasized that Russia takes nuclear non-proliferation very seriously. “We believe everyone must exercise extreme caution when it ​comes to nuclear rhetoric,” ‍he added.

Regarding steve Whitcaff’s ​upcoming visit-Trump’s special envoy for West Asia-to Russia, Peskov said Moscow is “eagerly⁢ awaiting his trip later this week” and considers it important, noteworthy,⁤ and⁤ constructive.

the​ senior Russian diplomat also mentioned that as Whitcaff and President Vladimir ⁤Putin have met several⁤ times before, arranging another ‌meeting between them is among the possible options.
