$15,000 Bond Now Required for US Tourist Visa

The U.S.government plans to require a $15,000 bond for certain tourist and business visa applicants in a⁤ pilot ⁢program.

The⁤ english section of webangah ‍News Agency,citing Mehr‍ News⁤ Agency and ⁤Reuters,reports that according to⁣ a notice published⁤ in ‍the Federal Register,the‌ official journal of the U.S. ​federal government, officials plan to mandate​ a $15,000‌ bond for some applicants seeking⁤ tourist or business visas.

This pilot program is set to start within⁣ two weeks as part of ongoing U.S. efforts to combat illegal‌ immigration. It will target individuals who overstay their visa expiration dates.

According to the notice,U.S. consular officers have ⁣been authorized to impose bonding requirements on applicants from countries with high rates of immigration violations. The bond may also apply to citizens whose‍ identity information is‌ deemed insufficient.

Donald Trump has initiated⁣ widespread deportations of undocumented immigrants since his second​ presidential term ⁤began in January 2025 by increasing ⁤resources​ focused on border security ⁤and detaining illegal immigrants on ⁢American soil. He has previously ⁢called for stricter immigration ⁤policies and declared his intent⁣ to carry out⁤ the largest expulsion operation ⁢in U.S. history.

following his inauguration⁢ on ⁣January 20, Trump signed an executive ‌order declaring ⁢a state ​of emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border. He also authorized deploying troops ‌along the ⁣southern border aiming to ⁣prevent what he‍ described as catastrophic‍ illegal crossings.
