Brazil’s supreme court Orders Former President Under House Arrest Ahead of Coup Conspiracy Trial
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Reuters via Mehr News Agency, Alexandre de Moraes, a judge of Brazil’s Supreme Court who was recently sanctioned by the United States, has issued a house arrest order for former President Jair Bolsonaro.
The order was issued due to Bolsonaro’s failure to comply with distancing mandates related to his support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s intervention in his case.
Bolsonaro will face trial on charges of conspiring with allies to violently overturn the results of Brazil’s 2022 presidential election, which he lost to Luiz Inácio lula da Silva.
