According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen network, the Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post reported that the head of the IDF’s mental health unit announced a 1,000 percent increase in reserve soldiers seeking psychological treatment related to war trauma.
This explicit admission comes amid reports that over recent months, the Israeli military has faced severe psychological pressure, workforce exhaustion, and battlefield setbacks in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier Israeli media also highlighted a critical crisis in soldiers’ mental health. In March this year, Yedioth Ahronoth revealed that military mental health clinics are overwhelmed with patients and unable to meet soldiers’ widespread needs.
Additionally, Channel 13 of Israeli television reported that dozens of percent of IDF troops exhibit acute symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)-underscoring Gaza’s protracted conflict’s deep psychological toll on israel’s occupying forces.
