The Amal Movement of Lebanon reacted to the government’s decision regarding the resistance weapons, according to an English report by webangah News Agency, citing Al-Nashra from Mehr News Agency.
The statement from Amal affirmed that Lebanon has strictly adhered to the ceasefire with Israel since November 27,2024.However, Israel has not respected the truce and continues airstrikes and drone assassinations. Israeli forces remain in control of areas within Lebanon, including five hills, preventing displaced border villagers from returning after their villages were completely destroyed.
Amal criticized the Lebanese government for offering free concessions to Israel through new agreements instead of focusing efforts on consolidating the ceasefire first. The movement emphasized that containing Israel’s ongoing aggression-which has killed and wounded hundreds of Lebanese-should be a priority.
The statement concluded by accusing the government of working against both President’s inaugural address and ministerial declarations. Amal called tomorrow’s meeting an chance to correct course and restore national unity in Lebanon.
