Haaretz: Netanyahu’s Plan for Full Gaza Occupation Is Not Serious

An ​Israeli Hebrew-language newspaper highlights the lack of seriousness in Netanyahu’s plan to fully occupy Gaza.

The English⁢ section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr‌ News Agency⁣ and Shihab, reported that the hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz sees no serious indication that ‌Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to fully occupy ⁣Gaza.

The report adds that a‍ full occupation of Gaza would require extensive military equipment and operations among it’s two million Palestinian residents. Tel Aviv currently lacks sufficient military forces for such‍ an effort.

According to the report,​ the Israeli army has acknowledged that a complete occupation⁣ of Gaza would take between one and two years. Delays in implementing this plan have raised doubts about its seriousness.

Earlier, the chief of Staff of the ⁢Israeli army warned about the potential consequences of this plan, including threats⁣ to the lives of captured Israelis.
