According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Palestinian Shihab News Agency via Mehr News Agency,Palestinian resistance groups released a statement condemning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks about a full occupation of Gaza. The groups said Netanyahu’s statements expose the enemy’s political and military failure over two years of war despite committing numerous crimes and receiving unlimited support.
The statement emphasized that threats to fully occupy Gaza represent the enemy’s intent to continue genocide there. It called such threats a desperate attempt to break the Palestinian people and their resistance, warning these intentions woudl come at grate cost. The groups affirmed that as always, the battlefield will determine outcomes.
They added that Gaza is not an empty geographical area waiting to be filled but rather land soaked with the blood of martyrs and fighters. Any direct attempt to occupy Gaza would become a new quagmire burning whoever advances into it. Resistance will enter a tougher and more painful phase against the enemy.
the statement continued, “Netanyahu tries to cover up his failures through hype for his illusions, but we clearly tell him that Gaza will be governed neither by Tel Aviv nor any foreign capital-it will be ruled by the will of its resilient people.”
Moreover, Palestinian resistance factions stressed their unity on the battlefield. They vowed any plans for occupying Gaza would be thwarted as before. They also warned Israel against expecting its captives’ release through military action alone, stating hostages will only be freed through negotiations involving a heavy price paid by Israel.
On August 4, 2025, Netanyahu announced plans for full occupation of the Gaza Strip including operations in areas where hostages are held.
However, later interviews with an indian network saw Netanyahu claim that Israel does not seek full occupation but intends to transfer control of Gaza to an interim management composed of Arab forces.
The Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz reported there is no serious indication that Netanyahu truly plans complete occupation of Gaza.
