The foreign ministers of the United Kingdom,Germany,Italy,Australia,and New Zealand have rejected Israel’s decision to occupy Gaza,according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Reuters via mehr News Agency.
The five countries called on Israel to instantly find ways to reform the registration system for international aid organizations.
Austria’s foreign Minister also strongly condemned Israel’s decision to expand military operations in Gaza and insisted that a ceasefire must be established and aid allowed into the territory.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that Canada condemns the israeli government’s move to escalate fighting in Gaza.
he emphasized: “Israel’s escalation will not help end the humanitarian disaster in Gaza or reduce suffering among Israeli captives and civilians. It will also fail to bring lasting peace and security for israeli residents.”
Carney added that Canada calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and remains committed to working with international partners toward a two-state solution.
On Friday evening, Scotland’s First Minister said Israel’s plan to take control of Gaza city woudl exacerbate conflict and increase Palestinian suffering. He declared this unacceptable and urged the global community to stop Israel and push for an immediate ceasefire.
Norway’s Foreign Minister stated that full control over Gaza by Israel would constitute an unacceptable violation under international law.
Sweden’s Foreign Minister echoed these concerns, declaring that the war in Gaza must stop, adding any attempt at annexation violates international law.
The Dutch Foreign Minister criticized Israel’s plan to intensify operations in Gaza as misguided. He described the humanitarian situation as catastrophic requiring urgent attention. He stated this decision will not result in returning hostages under any circumstances.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer issued a statement on Friday hours after Israel announced plans to occupy the Gaza Strip: “Israel’s decision to escalate its attacks is wrong; we urge them to reconsider immediately.”
This move will not end hostilities or secure hostage releases but instead will only cause more bloodshed.
This widespread opposition comes as Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet approved his plan for occupation of Gaza City by Israeli forces.
