According to the English section of webangah News Agency,quoting Mehr News Agency adn Al Jazeera Qatar,European leaders issued a joint statement Saturday evening regarding the Ukraine crisis. They praised what they called ”the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine and end Russia’s aggressive war.”
The statement, which did not address the role of Trump or the United States in creating regional and global tensions, expressed support for Trump’s pursuit of a “just, lasting peace that guarantees Ukraine’s security.” The leaders emphasized that diplomacy, support for Ukraine, and pressure on Russia are the only prosperous paths to ending the conflict.
The European leaders agreed that any diplomatic solution must safeguard both Ukrainian and European security interests. They affirmed that Ukraine has the right to freely determine its own future.
They stressed that “a path to peace is not possible without Ukraine’s participation” and reaffirmed their commitment to respecting international borders without resorting to force.
The statement concluded by declaring that current borders between Ukraine and Russia should serve as the baseline for starting negotiations.
The UK government also released a statement confirming that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed their mutual support for efforts aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine during a phone call.
