A British ⁢Royal Air Force F-35 Lightning‌ fighter jet made an emergency landing in Japan due to a technical fault.

The ⁣English section⁤ of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and The Autonomous, reported that a British royal Air‌ Force stealth fighter, the F-35B Lightning, was forced to make an emergency landing in Japan because of a technical malfunction.

japan’s Kyodo News Agency stated that this £88 million jet, considered one of the most advanced combat aircraft globally, landed unexpectedly ‍at Kagoshima International Airport.

The fighter had been operating from the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales as part‌ of the UK strike group in the Indo-Pacific region.

Landing operations at Kagoshima were suspended for about 20 minutes while the jet was moved to a secure area‍ for inspection and repairs.

This incident follows a similar event in June when another F-35B from the same strike group made an emergency landing and remained grounded⁣ in India for over five weeks.

Japan’s Ministry of ⁣Defense confirmed ⁣that the emergency landing resulted ⁢from an ⁣engineering system fault but did not disclose further details.
