UN Secretary-General Condemns Killing of Journalists in Gaza

Antonio Guterres condemned the ‍killing of ​journalists in ⁣the Israeli airstrike on Gaza City and called for an independent and ‍impartial inquiry into the incident.

according too ​the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News ‍Agency and Reuters, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’s spokesperson ‍condemned the killing of journalists in an Israeli airstrike on gaza Strip.

At a press briefing at UN​ headquarters‍ in New York,Stefan Dujarric ⁣stated,”I can confirm that the UN⁢ Secretary-General condemns the killing of six Palestinian journalists in an Israeli airstrike on⁣ Gaza City and calls‍ for‌ an ⁢independent and impartial​ investigation into these recent killings.”

He added, “These recent killings highlight the severe dangers journalists face while covering this ongoing conflict.”

Dujarric ⁤emphasized, “Journalists and media workers must be respected, protected, and allowed to carry out their work freely-without fear or harassment.”

Anas‍ Alshareef and Mohammed Qariqa from Al Jazeera news network,along with Ibrahim ​Zaher (cameraman),Moamen‌ Aliwa (cameraman),Mohammed Noufal (camera ‍assistant),and Mohammed ‌Al-Khalidi were killed in an Israeli strike targeting​ a press compound near Al-Shifa Hospital ‍in Gaza.
