Ship traffic through the Dardanelles Strait has been halted due to widespread forest fires in Turkey.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia’s Sputnik news agency, ship passage through the Dardanelles Strait has been suspended as of forest fires in Çanakkale Province in northwest Turkey.
the governor of Çanakkale announced on the social media platform X that firefighting efforts continue with the deployment of seven airplanes, six helicopters, and 455 personnel.
He added that 14 residents suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning have received medical treatment and are currently in stable condition.
