According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Axios reported on Wednesday based on two informed sources about a virtual consultation between Trump and European leaders along with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During this conversation, President Trump told Zelensky and the European heads that his goal for Friday’s meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska was to achieve a ceasefire and better understand whether a thorough peace agreement is possible.
Axios added that one source said Zelensky told Trump he could not trust Putin. Trump responded to European officials that he could not make a final decision regarding land exchanges but believed territorial swaps would be essential as part of any peace deal. He emphasized that it is up to Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky-the presidents of russia and Ukraine-to negotiate over territories, not him.
It should be noted that U.S. President Donald Trump held this virtual meeting with European leaders, NATO Secretary-General, and the Ukrainian president on Wednesday ahead of his scheduled summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday.
