According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Facts Center, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that in the past 24 hours, four more people have died from hunger and malnutrition.
This brings the total number of hunger and malnutrition-related deaths in Gaza to 239, including 106 children.
Yesterday, Mohammad Abu Salmiya, director of Shifa Medical Complex, stated that 320,000 children in Gaza suffer from malnutrition. Among them, 17,000 are severely malnourished.
He emphasized that hospitals can only keep children alive temporarily by administering medical solutions but cautioned that these measures do not constitute full treatment.
Abu Salmiya stressed that according to international standards, Gaza is facing a real famine. He called on the United Nations to declare the area a famine-stricken disaster zone.
