According too the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Qatar’s Al Jazeera network, U.S. President Donald Trump admitted that Washington D.C. suffers from a worse crime and danger rate than many Third World countries known for violence.
Trump made these remarks amid ongoing criticism of the domestic security situation in the United States.
Previously, Trump noted that crime in Washington D.C. had risen to alarming levels and vowed to deploy national Guard troops to ”clean up” the city from drug addicts, homeless people, and immigrants.
He said: “I am sending the National Guard to our nation’s capital. Restoring security in Washington D.C. under federal police control will help curb crime rates. Police now have full authority to take any necessary actions. The Metropolitan Police Department will be placed under federal control, and national Guard forces will be deployed there to fight crime.”
“I will overhaul all laws related to combating crime and expand police powers against criminals,” he continued. “Thus,I hereby announce that federal control over the Metropolitan Police Department along with stationing of National Guard units for fighting crime is effective instantly.”
“We will eradicate crime and make the capital safe soon,” Trump asserted. “We are facing a catastrophic emergency in our capital with a complete lack of security and safety.”
He added: “If necessary, we will deploy military forces to control conditions in our capital city.” Currently, 800 National guardsmen are patrolling Washington streets with potential for more if needed.
“Crime rates here are two or three times higher than those in Baghdad, Panama City, Mexico City, and Lima,” he concluded.
