Ukrainian media, citing the country’s navy, claim the downing of a Russian Su-30 fighter jet.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Ukrainian outlets such as RBC Ukraine and Kyiv Independent reported that a Russian Su-30SM fighter jet was shot down.
These media sources claim the aircraft may have crashed near Zmiinyi Island (Snake Island).
The Ukrainian Navy shared this report on its Telegram channel.
RBC Ukraine reported that naval intelligence units intercepted radio communications indicating loss of contact with a Su-30SM performing a mission southeast of Zmiinyi Island.
The Ukrainian military stated that the plane crashed for unknown reasons.
So far, the Russian Ministry of Defense has not issued any statement on the incident.
