webangah News Agency, International Desk: Dariush Safarnezhad, a senior expert on the Caucasus region, said at the international conference “zangazur Corridor: Geopolitical Threats to Iran and Perspectives of Various Actors” that under the July 10, 2025 Abu Dhabi agreement, a consortium will be formed for two months to delineate the Zangazur corridor. he noted it remains unclear whether the corridor will extend beyond 42 kilometers.
He added that after two months, Azerbaijan and Armenia will send a letter to the UN Security Council and Europe requesting that the Minsk Group’s peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-karabakh-which has mediated for over thirty years-be considered concluded. According to Safarnezhad, Armenia’s constitution will be amended to remove all provisions related to Nagorno-Karabakh.
The expert further explained that Armenia’s political system will shift from parliamentary to presidential. In June 2026, Armenia is expected to hold a constitutional referendum alongside national elections. Shortly thereafter, both Azerbaijan and Armenia are set to join NATO.
