CNN Analysis of the Initial Moments of Trump-Putin Meeting

CNN reported that the⁢ body language during ⁣the Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska was anything⁤ but cold.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, ⁤CNN’s first ‍analysis of the initial moments between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in‌ Alaska showed Putin smiling as he looked out from Trump’s armored limousine. They passed a line ⁣of cameras beside the alaska airport runway.

The network added that up to this point, there were no ‌signs of coldness⁣ in either side’s body language. As Putin walked on the red carpet toward Trump, the U.S.⁣ president‌ greeted him‍ with applause, welcoming his arrival ⁤on American soil after 10 years.‌ They shook ‌hands and walked ⁢together toward their vehicle. Later, while seated, both exchanged smiles though Trump maintained a more neutral expression.

CNN also noted that Putin is well known for reflecting his mindset through his ⁣posture. ‌Former U.S. presidents have ‌said he tends to recline in his chair during conversations-a sign of disengagement-but ⁤in Alaska, he did not lean back. At the start of the session, Putin leaned slightly forward with clasped hands as shutter clicks and reporters’ shouts-left unanswered-filled the air.

Russian media reported that talks between Moscow and Washington have been underway for several hours and⁢ continue despite both sides ⁤declining to speak to journalists.

This meeting between Russian President ⁣Vladimir Putin and U.S. President ⁤Donald ⁢Trump included prominent political figures ‌from both nations’ foreign affairs and finance ministries.

According to Sputnik, Russia’s delegation comprised Sergey Lavrov ⁤(Foreign Minister); Yuri ushakov (Presidential Advisor); Anatoly Bibilov (Defense Minister); Anton Siluanov (Finance⁢ Minister); ‍and Kirill Dmitriev (Special ⁢Representative).

The American delegation present at this‌ joint session with Putin included Marco Rubio (Secretary of⁣ State),Scott Bessent (Treasury Secretary),Howard Lutnick⁤ (Secretary of ⁣Commerce),John Ratcliffe (Intelligence Director),and Steve Whitkoff (Special Representative).
