Medvedev Reacts to Alaska Summit After Virtual Clash with Trump

Russia’s Deputy Security council Secretary Responds for the First Time Following Verbal Tensions with U.S. President Ahead of Their Meeting.

Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s ⁣Deputy Security Council⁢ Secretary, who previously engaged in a verbal spat with U.S. ⁣President ‍Donald Trump online, has now reacted to their meeting with Russian President⁤ vladimir Putin.

According to the ⁢English section of ⁣ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, ⁢Medvedev posted on⁣ his Telegram channel regarding the encounter: “1- A‌ fully functioning mechanism for high-level meetings between Russia and the united ‍States has been restored.‌ This ⁣is a peaceful process without deadlines or threats. 2- ‍The ‌Russian ‌president personally presented our conditions in detail to end the war in Ukraine to the U.S. leader. 3- After nearly three hours of talks, the White ⁢House refrained from ⁣increasing pressure on‌ Russia-at ⁣least for now.”

Putin and Trump met yesterday at a U.S. ‌military base in Alaska, engaging in discussions that lasted more than three hours across several formats: a private meeting during a limousine ride from‍ the⁣ president’s⁣ location to⁣ the negotiation site and sessions⁢ involving small groups of‍ three participants.

The⁢ Russian delegation ⁤included Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov‌ and Foreign Minister ⁣Sergey Lavrov; representing the ⁣U.S., Secretary of State Marco Rubio⁣ and Trump’s special envoy for West‍ Asia Steve Wittkoff ⁣took part.

Following these talks, Putin told reporters that resolving the war in Ukraine was their primary focus. he also ⁢called for‍ a fresh‍ start in bilateral relations and renewed cooperation with Washington while ⁣inviting trump to visit Moscow. Meanwhile, Trump acknowledged ⁢progress but did not⁤ disclose details or any ‍agreements reached.

Recently on social media, ⁢Medvedev commented on‍ Trump’s earlier remarks‍ referring‍ to India’s and Russia’s economies as “dead” as well as entering a “very risky ⁢zone.” He ⁢wrote: “Let me⁤ remind ⁣him ‌of‍ his favorite zombie movies and caution him⁤ about how dangerous ‘the dead⁣ hand’‍ myth‍ can be.”

Previously, Trump posted on his social network Truth Social that he had ordered⁤ deployment ⁣of two nuclear submarines by America “to ‌an‌ appropriate region” following Medvedev’s⁣ statements online. He condemned ⁢Medvedev’s tone⁤ as “stupid and provocative,” warning that “words matter greatly and often ⁣have unintended consequences.”

The virtual dispute began ⁤when Trump called former Russian leadership “unsuccessful” warning them “to watch what they say.” In response, Medvedev sharply warned against provoking ⁢Moscow further while referencing the so-called “Dead Hand” system-a Cold ⁣War-era automatic nuclear retaliation ⁢mechanism reportedly ⁤still active in Russia-that⁤ launches missiles if its leadership is destroyed.
