The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, reported that Al-Mayadeen News, referencing the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, stated that Abu Muhammad al-Jolani’s terrorist regime has moved its suppression forces once again toward Syria’s western coast and the port city of Tartus.
The report highlighted that extensive military equipment has been transferred by the syrian Ministry of Defense to coastal regions in western Syria.
As an inevitable result, a new wave of killings and repression targeting Alawite civilians in these areas is not unlikely.
Following Bashar al-Assad’s fall and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s takeover of Syria, extremist groups such as ISIS and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham launched organized attacks accusing Alawites of apostasy. These assaults included field executions, destruction of sacred sites, and massacres of civilians. Official figures state that over 1,500 Alawites were killed during clashes in March 2025; many victims were women and children.Unofficial estimates suggest much higher casualties along Syria’s western coast. These violent acts have triggered waves of Alawite migration from the area.
