According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative at international organizations in Vienna, wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) page that one of the main achievements of the Alaska meeting was that the two global powers agreed to focus their efforts on a clear goal: the urgent negotiation of an effective, long-term peace agreement-not a tenuous ceasefire that distracts from this objective.
he noted that many European Union leaders insist that any future peace deal must provide reliable security guarantees for Ukraine.
Ulyanov added that Russia agrees with this view but also asserts its equal right to receive effective security guarantees for itself.
Regarding this issue, he stated: “What does the West propose? apparently, they have not yet considered it.This is a mistake that needs correction. Russia will assist in negotiations on this matter.”
Concluding his remarks, Ulyanov emphasized that these security guarantees must be far more credible than the well-known 1990 promises-that NATO would not advance even an inch eastward.
