Sultan salman bin Abdulaziz, the King of Saudi Arabia, issued royal orders announcing changes among senior military and political officials, according too the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the official Saudi Press Agency.
One of these orders removed Talal bin Abdullah bin Turki Al-Otaibi from his role as Advisor to the Minister of Defense.
The king also dismissed Ghassan bin Abdulrahman Al-Shibl, Advisor to the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
In addition, Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Madhi, head of the General Institution for Military Industries in Saudi Arabia, was relieved from his position. New appointments to replace these officials have not yet been announced.
The Ministry of Defense is currently headed by Khalid bin Salman, son of King Salman. This ministry remains one of Saudi ArabiaS moast strategic key posts. Before Khalid’s appointment, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held this position. King Salman himself had overseen this ministry during his time as Crown Prince.
