Israeli Defense Minister and Chief of Staff Approve Occupation of Gaza

Israeli media claim the Minister ‍of Defense ⁣and ⁣Chief of Staff have⁤ approved⁤ a plan to occupy Gaza.

According⁢ to the English section ⁣of ‌ webangah News agency, citing Mehr ​News Agency, Israeli media report ⁤that ⁣the Defense Minister and Chief of Staff have agreed‌ on a plan to ‍occupy Gaza.

These sources state that the Israeli military ⁢has ‌decided to call up ⁤50,000 reserve soldiers earlier ⁣than planned.

Earlier reports indicated that​ within the‌ framework of expanding military operations ‌in‍ Gaza, 60,000 reserve troops would be mobilized starting Wednesday⁤ morning.

A week ago, an Israeli outlet claimed that Lt. Gen.Eyal Zamir, ​Chief ‌of staff, with⁣ authorization from the security ⁣cabinet,‍ approved the “main plan” for occupying Gaza; this operation requires about 100,000 reservists.

The plan ⁢involves seizing northern Gaza ‌and calls for mobilizing between 80,000 and 100,000 reserve forces for this ​large-scale⁣ campaign.

Prime Minister ⁢Benjamin⁢ Netanyahu recently​ announced accelerating the occupation⁢ plan for Gaza City amid warnings about extensive legal and humanitarian consequences. There‌ are also increasing signs pointing toward possible negotiations for a ceasefire.

In his​ speech at the opening of the Knesset Museum in​ jerusalem, Netanyahu claimed⁢ Israel⁢ is approaching “the⁣ end of battle.”
