According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and AFP sources, Russian president Vladimir Putin offered to hold a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Moscow.
AFP reported that Putin made this proposal during a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump while Trump was hosting Zelensky and several European leaders at the White House on Monday.
The Moscow Times added that two informed sources told AFP the proposal for a meeting in moscow was rejected by Zelensky, who responded with ”no.”
Yesterday, Trump convened a multilateral meeting at the White House aimed at resolving the Ukraine conflict.
The talks included participation from Zelensky; French President Emmanuel Macron; UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer; German chancellor Friedrich Merz; Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni; Finnish President Sauli Niinistö; NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg; and European Commission President ursula von der Leyen.
This marked the first time the White house concurrently hosted such a large gathering of European officials. Prior to these multilateral discussions, Trump held an hour-long one-on-one meeting with Zelensky.
During these negotiations, Trump contacted Putin by phone.
