The United States Geological Survey reported that a 7.5 magnitude earthquake shook the Drake Passage, located between South America and Antarctica, according to webangah News Agency.
The quake occurred at a depth of 36 kilometers. Scientists are currently assessing the risk of a tsunami, especially along the Chilean coast.
No casualties or damage have been reported so far.
