according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the United States central Command (CENTCOM) announced that U.S. forces carried out a successful strike in northern Syria on August 19, resulting in the death of a senior ISIS member.
CENTCOM stated that the high-ranking ISIS militant was killed in the village of Atmeh, located in Syria’s Idlib province.
A U.S. official had previously saeid that a military operation conducted early on August 20 targeted and eliminated a senior member of the terrorist group ISIS in northwestern Syria.
The official claimed that the deceased was also considered a candidate for leading ISIS operations within Syria.
Last month,the Pentagon reported killing another senior ISIS figure along with two of his sons during an American strike in Aleppo province.
