According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Anadolu Agency, Emine Erdoğan, wife of Turkey’s president, sent a letter on Saturday to Melania Trump, wife of the U.S. president, urging her to extend her concern for Ukraine’s war-torn children to those suffering in Gaza.
In her letter, Turkey’s first lady wrote: “Yoru compassion for orphaned children in Ukraine is an initiative that restores hope among people. As you stated in your message, every child holds an undeniable global right to grow up in a loving and secure habitat. This right belongs to no single region, ethnicity, religion or ideology. Supporting those deprived of this right is a fundamental duty toward humankind.”
Referring to Melania Trump’s recent appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the war in Ukraine, Emine Erdoğan added: “Especially as a presidential spouse, your empathy for lost lives, broken families and children orphaned by the devastating conflict serves as an inspiring beacon of hope.”
She continued: ”I believe you will demonstrate even greater sensitivity toward Gaza-where 62,000 innocent civilians including 18,000 children have been brutally killed over two years-compared with the compassion shown for 648 Ukrainian children who died during that conflict.”
