The Ukrainian Air Force has reported the crash of a fighter jet and the fatality of its pilot.
On Saturday, the Ukrainian Air Force stated that a MiG-29 fighter pilot died following an accident during his aircraft’s landing on the night of August 23.
The statement identified the pilot as Lieutenant Colonel Serhiy Bondar, born in 1979, who had completed a combat mission before the incident.
It added that investigations into the cause and circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
No further details were provided by the Ukrainian Air Force in their announcement.
