Venezuela Responds to U.S. Warships Deployed Toward Its Shores

Venezuelan officials‍ respond to U.S. unfriendly maneuvers and deployment of warships near ⁤their⁤ shores.

According to the English section ​of webangah News Agency,citing ‍Al Jazeera,Venezuelan President Nicolás ⁣Maduro condemned the U.S. deployment of three warships off Venezuela’s coast as an illicit attempt to overthrow his government.

The country’s Foreign Minister emphasized that Venezuela is prepared to confront any act ‍of‍ aggression.

Two days ago, Reuters and AFP‌ reported-citing sources-that three U.S. warships, dispatched under then-President Donald Trump’s ​orders, would be⁤ stationed near Venezuelan waters by⁢ the ⁣end of the week. This move ‍is​ part ⁣of Washington’s efforts to combat drug trafficking​ from Latin⁢ America.

The naval deployment follows increased pressure from the Trump administration on Maduro. ⁣The U.S. recently raised the reward​ for Maduro’s arrest⁤ to $50 million,accusing ⁣him of ⁣collaborating with cocaine traffickers targeting America.

Sources revealed‌ that an amphibious strike group ‍consisting of three Aegis-class missile⁣ destroyers is en route ⁣to⁣ Venezuelan ‍shores ⁢and⁣ expected to arrive by next Sunday.

Two​ anonymous sources told Reuters​ that these destroyers carry approximately 4,500⁣ personnel, including 2,200 U.S.⁤ Marines.

On Monday,Maduro announced⁢ plans⁢ to deploy millions of paramilitary supporters throughout Venezuela ‌in response to what‍ he called “U.S. threats.”
