Tel Aviv’s Failed Attempt to Assassinate Senior Yemeni Military Official During Meal

News reports indicate a failed attempt by the Israeli ⁢regime to assassinate the Chief of Staff of Yemen’s Armed Forces during a meal.

According to the English ⁢section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Arab 48, Israeli media announced that Tel Aviv failed in its attempt to assassinate the Chief ‌of Staff of Yemen’s army.

The Hebrew-language website Walla reported today, Sunday, on a foiled assassination attempt against‌ major General Mohammed ⁤Abdulkarim Al-Ghamari, Chief⁢ of Staff of Yemen’s armed forces.‌ The reports ⁢stated that Al-Ghamari was targeted while dining with ‍senior officials. However, the⁤ operation ⁤was aborted at the last moment and the senior Yemeni commander survived.

The israeli outlet ⁣claimed that amid escalating threats from Yemeni missiles and drones against Israel’s⁣ home front, Israel’s⁤ Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman) and Mossad have intensified efforts to develop an extensive target⁤ database for striking critical centers in Yemen.

According to political sources interviewed by ⁤Walla, Tel Aviv cannot ignore retaliatory attacks from ‍Yemeni forces. This necessitates preparing for a special military operation by the Israeli ‍army-one⁣ different in approach from recent U.S. operations that failed to eliminate Yemeni threat capabilities.

These sources alleged that Israel’s plan involves simultaneously targeting multiple sites-including Yemeni intelligence systems, ports, military capabilities, and defense industries-to inflict notable damage with one coordinated strike.

The ‌report acknowledged that strategic Yemeni facilities are concealed within underground complexes, complicating efforts to⁤ target them effectively-especially given Israeli intelligence lacks⁢ complete insight into their locations.

Nonetheless, ‌some political sources claimed “the‌ Houthis ‍are under pressure,” stressing⁤ that future⁢ attacks must be complex and comprehensive.

The U.S. operation preceding Israel’s actions was code-named “Operation Rough Knight.” Conducted from March through May 2024, it involved more than 1,000 airstrikes targeting Houthi command-and-control centers, air⁢ defenses, and supply routes ⁤but failed to stop missile and drone launches.

Washington suffered⁣ heavy losses during this campaign-the most notable being seven downed drones valued ⁤at approximately‌ $30 million each as well as one F-18 fighter jet lost⁣ due to a security incident.

Despite these setbacks,Yemeni forces demonstrated remarkable resilience. This endurance forced Washington into negotiations through regional mediators and eventually led it to cease strikes on Yemen.

Israeli sources claimed Jerusalem is seeking new and distinct methods against Yemenis-especially since assessments indicate they‍ will escalate attacks immediately if Israel launches broad military action in Gaza.
