The final statement from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit,reported by webangah News Agency citing Al jazeera via Mehr News Agency, emphasized opposition to Benjamin Netanyahu’s reckless comments about a ”Greater Israel” vision.
The statement called on the UN Security Council to hold a session addressing violations against the Palestinian people. It expressed support for ongoing efforts by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.
It further condemned Israel’s obstinacy and rejection of initiatives aimed at restoring calm in Gaza. The OIC urged for corridors to be opened and sufficient humanitarian aid delivered into Gaza without obstacles.
The summit’s concluding declaration also demanded guaranteed freedom of operation for aid agencies in Gaza, with particular emphasis on UNRWA. It reaffirmed opposition to Netanyahu’s irresponsible remarks concerning the so-called “Greater Israel” plan.
Additionally, it strongly condemned recent crimes involving the assassination of journalists and media workers in Gaza. The statement stressed that the Palestinian government must assume its responsibilities throughout all occupied territories.
