The English section of webangah News Agency reports,citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera,that while tel Aviv insists most Gaza victims are Palestinian resistance fighters,intelligence from the “Aman” spy agency shows approximately 83 percent of the casualties are civilians.
A joint investigation by The Guardian, the Israeli website Seicha Mekomit, and electronic magazine 972 obtained data from one of the most accurate and reliable sources within the Israeli military. The information reveals that by mid-May 2025, no more than 8,900 members of Islamic resistance movements Hamas and Islamic Jihad had been killed.
According to this report,Israel’s military intelligence database recorded the deaths of 7,330 Hamas and Islamic Jihad members by mid-may 2025. This figure is supplemented with an additional estimated 1,570 Palestinian fighters whose exact affiliations remain uncertain. Altogether, fighter fatalities total approximately 8,900.
This means only about 17% of overall Gaza casualties were combatants; over 83% were civilians.
Estimates suggest around 10,000 bodies remain buried under rubble, with thousands missing. Many recovered corpses have been so severely burned that identification is impractical.
While Israel claims more than 47,000 Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants have died in Gaza so far, these leaked figures substantially dispute Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s official numbers for resistance group fatalities.
