According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency via Al Jazeera, Majid Al Ansari, spokesman for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said: “We remain committed to our efforts until the end of the war and welcome any initiatives within this framework. Israel does not want to respond to the proposal on the table.”
He added that they call on the international community to exert pressure on Israel. Whether negotiations take place in Egypt or Qatar is not significant.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that Hamas’s agreement aligns with what Israel has accepted.
“Now, the ball is in Israel’s court; however, it seems reluctant to reach an agreement,” he continued. “Israel must respond to the current proposal but appears unwilling to do so.”
The spokesperson further stated that intensified Israeli attacks will not yield positive results. They do not take Israeli media statements seriously and await an official response to the proposed deal.
He added that Israel has neither officially accepted nor rejected the proposal nor offered an alternative. Mediators remain in daily contact with each other.
