According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Agence France-Presse stated on Wednesday via its X social media account that Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, confirmed IAEA inspectors have reached Iran’s nuclear site.
Last night, in an interview with Fox News, Grossi claimed that the first team of IAEA inspectors had returned to iran following negotiations with Tehran.
Earlier,Lawrence norman,a reporter for The Wall Street Journal,also asserted on X that during a conference in the United states,Rafael Grossi said talks with Iran are ongoing and despite earlier statements to the contrary,IAEA inspectors are expected to return to Iran. It remains unclear whether his remarks indicate an official agreement between Iran and the agency or simply represent Grossi’s forecast.
On Friday, Reza Najafi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the International Atomic Energy Agency, said that following recent negotiations between an IAEA deputy director and Tehran officials; his delegation met with the agency’s Deputy Director General for Safeguards in Vienna.
During this meeting, both parties continued discussions from Tehran about how Iran will interact with the IAEA considering new circumstances caused by illegal attacks by the United States and Israel on peaceful Iranian nuclear facilities. They exchanged views within the framework of a new law passed by Parliament outlining conditions for this engagement.
Najafi emphasized that progress was made during these talks and it was agreed they would continue to develop procedural guidelines governing future interactions under parliamentary law.
