The U.S. Treasury Department announced sanctions against two individuals and two entities in North Korea.
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Xinhua, reported that on Wednesday, just two days after President Donald Trump expressed his willingness to resume relations with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during a meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, the U.S. Treasury Department imposed new sanctions targeting North Korea.
According to the report, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned two individuals and two entities, including a North Korean national and a North Korean commercial company.
Recently, President Trump stated in his meeting with South KoreaS president that he was eager to restart relations with Kim Jong Un.
