According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Reuters via Mehr News Agency, a large-scale overnight Russian attack on Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, killed at least eight people and injured 48. The assault provoked outrage among European officials supporting Ukraine.
European Council president Antonio Costa posted online that Russia’s deadly missile strikes against Ukraine had caused another terrifying night.
He added: “I express my condolences to the Ukrainian victims and the staff of the European Union delegation whose building was deliberately damaged in this Russian attack. The European Union will not be intimidated.”
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer also condemned the strike on social media platform X, expressing sympathy for all affected by Russia’s senseless attacks on Kyiv, which damaged the British Council building in the city. He stated: “Putin kills children and civilians and dashes hopes for peace.”
Local Ukrainian officials reported that at least eight people were killed and around 48 wounded following Russia’s extensive drone and missile offensive on Kyiv.
Reuters reported that out of approximately 600 drones and 31 missiles launched by Russia, Ukrainian forces shot down 563 drones and 26 missiles. One strike damaged central Ukrainian railway infrastructure near Vinnytsia region. Officials said this hit critical infrastructure caused power outages affecting 60,000 residents there.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defence stated that its air defense units shot down 102 Ukrainian drones over at least seven regions within the past day.
Ukraine also claimed that its recent drone attacks targeted Russian energy infrastructure causing damage to Afipsky and Kuibyshevsky oil refineries.
