Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has reiterated the regime’s position that it will not return Syria’s occupied Golan Heights, according to a report by webangah News Agency.
sa’ar stated that in any potential peace agreement with Syria, the occupied Golan heights would remain part of Israel. He emphasized Israel’s commitment to expanding the scope of the Abraham Accords and normalizing relations across the region, adding: ”We aim to include new countries like Syria and Lebanon in this process-while safeguarding Israel’s fundamental security interests.”
The minister had previously told Israeli network i24 News that Israel’s stance on the Golan is “non-negotiable,” suggesting recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the territory could form the basis for an acceptable agreement with Syria.
