According to teh English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen, ISIS militants launched a terrorist operation on Friday targeting the village of Al-Zir in the Al-Basira area east of Deir ez-Zor.
The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced they successfully repelled the attack against their military positions in eastern Deir ez-Zor.
The clashes resulted in several SDF fighters being killed or wounded.
Additionally, a group of terrorists targeted an SDF checkpoint in the Dhiban area of Deir ez-zor. A third attack struck another checkpoint located between al-Shuhail and al-Basira.
The SDF stated that ISIS seeks to exploit Syria’s chaotic situation to resume its operations in the country’s east.
