According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Cairo-based Al-Akhbarieh via Mehr News Agency, israeli sources have revealed significant disagreements between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir regarding the Gaza conflict.
Israeli media report that Netanyahu and Zamir hold starkly opposing views on the war in Gaza and ceasefire negotiations.
The sources indicate that Zamir could resign this week if no agreement is reached concerning Gaza.
The disagreements focus especially on how to manage the crisis in Gaza, including reaching a prisoner exchange deal and a ceasefire arrangement.
If no deal on a ceasefire and prisoner swap is finalized this week,Zamir may choose to step down from his position,according to these sources.
Reports also state that the Israeli military plans to reduce its troop presence in gaza and redeploy several brigades to other fronts.
Currently, only eight brigades remain in Gaza-a notably small number sence the outbreak of hostilities.
