UN: Aid Arriving in Gaza Is Minimal and Insufficient

Teh United Nations deputy Secretary-General warns of insufficient ⁤humanitarian aid‍ deliveries‌ to Gaza.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency,quoting Mehr News Agency,Farhan Haq,Deputy ⁤Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General,told ⁤Al Jazeera that the amount⁣ of aid entering Gaza is less than half of what‌ the population truly ‌needs.

He said that everything currently reaching Gaza is inadequate‍ and widespread hunger⁣ prevails in the region.

Haq criticized israel’s role, stating that‌ the main⁢ problem lies⁣ in Israel’s full control over all border crossings​ and checkpoints.

He described inspections for humanitarian aid entry as extremely difficult and time-consuming. The inspection processes at⁣ the⁣ two crossings authorized ⁤for⁣ aid delivery⁣ are⁢ complex and lengthy.

Farhan Haq called for a return to the previous UN mechanism for distributing aid‌ inside Gaza. He emphasized, “We need to ⁢revert to the distribution network formerly ​managed by the United Nations.”

He ⁤concluded by ⁤stressing that aid ‍must again be distributed ⁤via trucks entering Gaza through land‌ crossings.
